Carmel By the Sea & the Pebble Beach 17-Mile Drive

A DAY in CARMEL BY THE SEA – August 22, 2021
Carmel is a lovely quaint, but expensive little town. There was one shop, “Carmel Classics”, that had the perfect shirts and super soft cross between a long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt that I got. They were nice quality and reasonably priced. We saw the next stop we had to make…”A.W. Shucks”. Can you guess? If I give a hint that it is a restaurant, will that help? A.W. Shucks is an oyster bar! Yep-time for more. We started with a 1/2 dozen, but it came out with 7. Sweet! It also came with complimentary sour dough bread. OMG…We had to order another 1/2 dozen. We were wondering if we’d get 7 again. No. We just got 6. They were awesome. And that was our lunch. 🙂

We drove to the beach.

Next we headed to Pebble Beach…We paid the $11 to do the 17-mile drive. Glad we did, but wish we would have started earlier to have more leisure time to hike some of the beach area trails. It was well worth it!

The LONE CYPRESS!

PEBBLE BEACH

(The minimum cost to play at Pebble Beach is actually $1,835, and that’s before a caddie or cart!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our day. FYI — A night at The Lodge at Pebble Beach will run you anywhere from $940 all the way up to $7,280. At The Inn at Spanish Bay, room rates start at $820 and go up to $4,750, while rooms at Casa Palmero cost between $1,100 and $3,600. So now you can save for your next vacation! LOL
We went back to the comfort of our motorhome in Monterey. 🙂
