Big Axe Brewery – NB Harvest Host

July 10, 2026
We stayed at the Big Axe Brewery in Nackawic, New Brunswick as a Harvest Host member.

A look inside at seating available.

HH -RV parking was across the road from the brewery near the lake.

There were NINE of us here tonight! This is the most fellow campers we’ve had at a Harvest Host, but they certainly had the room.

After a heavy downpour, we walked over to the brewery and even sat out on their deck with a view of the water.

Barry chose their Northern Gold Lager (Helles)

I chose the House Made Radler with the Northern Gold Lager.

And dinner: BBQ Pizza–decent, but we were comparing to the one we just had at Savini in Petit Champlain – Old Quebec City. 🙂

Boy, my alcohol consumption has shot right up, and we have several months to go on this adventure! I usually just have water. My typical beverage and food choices have gone out the window. I don’t think it will change much till we get back to Yuma.

Before leaving the area we stopped by to see the World’s Biggest Axe.

Next stop Shediak, NB. Lobster Festival–very disappointed! Couldn’t find anything other than a small carnival area with rides.

At least there was the World’s Largest Lobster. It was pretty darn cool. VERY lifelike. Was worth the stop. 🙂 The detail was incredible.

There was a Lobster, beer and ice cream building here in the small park that borders Shediak Bay.

So we grabbed a lobster roll to share since they supposedly are the best right now.

Here’s a map to see where we were with our drive from Quebec City, Quebec to New Brunswick with our overnight Brewery HH stay in Nacawic, and our stops in Shediak and at Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park at the Bay of Fundy. (We did stop halfway between Quebec City and Nacawic, but it was just a place to sleep.) It has been a beautiful drive.

Main stop of the day – Bay of Fundy will be a separate blog entry. 🙂
