Today, July 1 is CANADA DAY! I wore my red Canada t-shirt for the occasion. We came to North Bay with boondocking options from the Park4Night, but the first location was full due to the Canada Day Celebration right here at the marina area. We moved on to the next one. Well, we tried to move to the second option, but it had a sign “CLOSED – Fireworks Fallout area” that would be happening that night. So where now?
We ended up at the most amazing small parking lot where we parked parallel to Lake Nipissing. What a great view and a lovely breeze that we really appreciated since it was 80+ degrees and HUMID!
This area and beyond had absolutely lovely garden areas. It was part of the Golden Goulet Mile.
This definitely tapped my curiosity!

When Barry and I walked down to the main area of activities, we stepped onto the beach where people were swimming. We decided to “test” the water.
Expecting it to be icy cold, we were shocked at how warm it was. It was so pleasant that we headed back to Sadie, quickly got into our swimsuits to go swimming! We went to the area closer to us.
It was delightful.
People were gathering all around the area we were parked in anticipation of the fireworks. OMG. The fireworks started and they were RIGHT there! No walking anywhere – just outside Sadie (driver side). In fact, at times they were so close and “in my eyes” I totally get how it felt to Abby when she was 4 or 5 years old watching fireworks at Disneyland up on her dad’s shoulders above the rest of us.
This show was fantastic!!! Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends!
