Ragan’s Family Campground – Madison, FL

Big Rig pull thru sites.

Even though we only stopped here for a quick overnight between travel days, I was impressed with the Ragan’s Family Campground. It used to be a Jellystone Park Campground. On our way into Florida we spent the overnight at Deerwood Campground which is off the same interstate exit, and on the same road. Deerwood was definitely more rustic with quite a few permanent residents. Our pull thru site was a tight fit due to the hookup posts and a major junction box. The cost to stay was cheaper (about $20 + tax, but we preferred to check out Ragan’s Family Campground this time. Glad we did!

With our Passport America membership we received 50% off which made it about $27 + tax. EXCELLENT pull thru site that was pretty level, and accommodated the Jeep in tow mode. The entire campground was beautiful. Must be awesome during spring through fall. (Peak season price is more & PA discount is NOT honored). Looks like a great water slide and lazy river area, but closed for the winter. Even though it appears fairly close to the I-10, we really didn’t notice any road noise. It was cold, so our windows and door were all closed. I was so surprised when I saw GaGa Ball! Love the giant tetherball…
