Aug ’19 Visit to Washington – Abby & Richard & Oak Harbor friends

Special time with Abby! We went to Oak Harbor the first weekend of August. We met Becky (Ogren) Miller and Adelia at City Beach Park. Oh, my! How that place has changed!! I love it! It is so much more inviting and useable for people of all ages. Although, there aren’t any pickleball court put in yet! We got together with some of my middle school colleagues. (Kathy & Jeff Lemieux, Karen Pedersen, and Sue Karaholios. They talked Abby into going to her 20th class reunion that evening. (She had already paid for it. 🙂 Abby and I spent the night with Karen & Pete Pedersen, and went to Oak Harbor Lutheran Church for service on Sunday morning. It was awesome to see so many people I knew! We surprised Grandpa Tom and sat with him. I meant to get a picture of the three of us, but got side-tracked. 🙁 How convenient that OHLC only had one service for the summer months! The Pedersen’s treated Abby and me to brunch at the Whidbey Golf & CC after church. Eggs Benedict were so good!

Abby and I had a chance to go for a few walks together when I was there. I loved her new 2 bedroom- 2 bath apartment. When I came back for more days with Abby, Barry came with me. Barry and I went on a couple walks while Abby was at work.and went out picking blackberries while we were there. One evening Richard was able to come up for dinner when I made a low carb version of Zuppa Tuscana, low carb cheese bread and a fresh blackberry cobbler. We had hoped to see Megan for dinner one night, but unfortunately, she had major car problems when on her way to the restaurant. Glad we at least got to have some time with her only time earlier in the month at Arlie’s annual BBQ. It’s always great to see our kids!
