Aug ’19 Visit to Washington – Anacortes

Saturday morning, August 17, Barry and I headed up to Anacortes to spend a couple nights with Renee and Tom. What a wonderful, relaxing time! Their house is stunning and is located right where you can easily walk to town, and to the water in a couple different directions. Barry and I had the entire upstairs suite to stay. We felt like we were at an amazing B&B! We took in the local farmers’ market, and met up with Darlene & Jerry Buss! How wonderful it was that we were all in Anacortes and they had a couple hours to spare between obligations! Ice cream time. 🙂 Unfortunately, I didn’t know Dean Weldon was visiting from Texas and had been on Guaymas Island. for most of the day. We didn’t discover this till Dean was almost back on Whidbey Island. 🙁 So close, and yet so far.

Renee, Tom, Barry and I walked to the beach area to watch the sunsets. So peaceful. We hiked part of the Tommy Thompson Trail, and hiked one of their favorite trails in Washington Park with gorgeous vistas. Our days and evenings were filled with delightful conversation and laughter, and of course great food and drinks. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends!! What a great, way to end our visit to Washington!
