11-29-18 My birthday week at the beach

We had a reservation for beach front row for Nov 24-Dec 1, but hearing about the wall of sand that they put up for the winter between the front row and the ocean, so we figured it was silly to pay $15 more a night to look at a wall of sand, so we changed our reservation to the back row. We pulled in to have the view of the bay across the road. It was so peaceful. BUT –no wall of sand was up!! Evidently the equipment that would have been used to make the barrier of sand had been sent to help with the wildfires! One of the diggers burnt up in the fire.

Nov 25 – We rode our bikes to Coronado. It felt great! Loved my e-bike going up the main hill to town with traffic! We had lunch at the Brigatine. Yum!
Nov 26 – We rode to Imperial Beach and then got onto the Bayside Bike Path It was so cool! we biked about 18 miles.

Nov 27 – We rode back to Coronado. We shopped a little bit but had to get back to meet the kids at the Brigatine in Imperial Beach. They not only took me out for dinner for my birthday, but Erika brought TWO gluten free cakes and candles. The cakes were YUMMY!! I was officially 62!! Great landmark birthday…I am eligible for my pension to begin Dec 1. 🙂

Nov 28 – The weather turned. We had a rain storm move in and boy was the wind rocking our home! We finally pulled in the full-length slide. There were so few rv’s here during the week, and therefore, nothing to help block any of the wind coming at us! When we got up on the 29th there was a sailboat on the beach! I talked to the ranger while we waited for someone to arrive with equipment to get the boat out of the water. The tide had been coming in for a few hours and buried a good bit of the boat in water and sand.
