June 10-11, 2026
Having entered Canada today, the epic part of our 2026 trip is about to begin. Our main destinations are Moraine and Maligne Lakes, Montreal, Quebec City, and the Maritime Provinces, including Newfoundland. BC is absolutely beautiful, but because we’ve spent time in BC previously, and it is easy enough for us to return to this province at another time, we are traveling through without making stops to explore. We stopped in Hope, BC at a Harvest Host location, Mountainview Brewing Company.
Hope was the filming location for the 1982 Sylvester Stallone movie, First Blood. While there is a life-size wooden chainsaw statue of Stallone as Rambo, this fun cut-out was here at Mountainview Brewing Co. Stallone has been replaced…

We went in for dinner. A good burger!

Tonight was Trivia Night! It had an animal theme. I decided at the last minute to go ahead and join in. We had invited another couple to sit with us since the “non-trivia” tables were all taken. We enjoyed talking with Kelly and her husband–and their help on the first round or two of the trivia. Kelly used to live in Nova Scotia and suggested a few places to visit. I did not get a picture with them. 🙁

The trivia host was very personable and perfect for the role. She and her assistant were dressed as characters from Bluey!

Barry and I held 3rd place till the last round. While we still got one point for most of the questions in the last round, they were questions that had more than one answer–AND the answers were given DIFFERENT point values. The most common answer for a group of that animal = 1 point, the next one less used/less common term = 2 points, and the most unique for that particular animal = 3 points! You could NOT list more than one answer. If you knew one, two or all three, you had to write down the one that you think might be the 3 point answer. 🙂

We headed back to Sadie afterwards. This vehicle made me laugh!! Does this mean they deliver?

View out our driver side…

Peaceful night.
The next morning we began our way to Vernon, BC.

Below is a cool bridge we went through. Built to withstand the tremendous snowfalls without hindering traffic/closing the road more than absolutely necessary. I loved the windows!!

We arrived in Vernon, BC for two nights. Barry booked us at Swan Lake Resort because their website stated they have pickleball courts!
