Social Distancing Kayaking @ Senator’s Wash

We went out kayaking again today with Paul and Sue Finney. We went to Senator’s Wash north of Yuma. It is on the other side of the road from Squaw Lake where we went last week. There is a dike that separates Senator’s Wash Reservoir from Squaw Lake and access to the Colorado River.

It was the most perfect day out on the water!! We only saw one other boat and one SUP on the water! We went into a small cove where we came ashore to enjoy our packed lunches and the view. So peaceful!

We got some decent exercise as we paddled around for about three hours, while also practicing social distancing naturally. What a glorious day! It is awesome to reenergize our souls like this. We are so blessed to have two oases for such relaxing kayaking that are only 30 minutes away from our motorhome!

Barry’s a happy, relaxed guy!

I know a lot of our family and friends do not have the opportunities we have to get through this crazy pandemic. I’m posting these only to have a personalized record of our retirement life. We are extremely grateful for our timing of being at Fortuna De Oro in Yuma, AZ to be as safe as possible from Covid-19, yet able to enjoy an active lifestyle. Thankfully, the majority of the seasonal snowbirds have returned home, and our park has been closed to new reservations for spring and summer. It is a beautiful place to be while we wait out the Covid-19 pandemic. It is a very different Easter weekend across the nation. We are extremely blessed.
