Las Vegas: Our SPHERE Experience

August 13, 2025, Today was 112 degrees Fahrenheit! Oofda!
Barry and I had tickets for the show “Postcard From Earth” that was showing at The Sphere in Las Vegas! This experience was incredible! It was like an IMAX 3d show on steroids! The message to take care of Mother Earth came through nicely, but I’m sure many dismissed it.

We parked Sadie in the High Rollers parking lot. High Rollers is the huge ferris wheel.

We walked to the Sphere via The Venetian. This was our first venture inside the Venetian. Welcome to Venice and the iconic gondolas and their gondoliers!

The inside mall of the Venetian was a huge area of shops and eating places.

The gelato place looked amazing. We had a small cup to share, but it was disappointing to me.

Coming soon to the Sphere is “The Wizard of Oz”. It will be spectacular. There was definite promotion for it here. I’m sure it will be an incredible experience!

Of course there is the casino.

INSIDE THE SPHERE

We were told you HAD to go to the Element Cafe before the show for pizza and the garlic fries. You can take them both into the show, so we did!

POSTCARD FROM EARTH–begins!

Pictures do not do justice to this experience, but they help us relive parts of it.

It was cool to “be back” in places we have been like Horseshoe Bend.

…And to become a part of places we may never experience in person.

Inside the sphere when the show was over:

Outside:

The lit sphere designs get changed regularly. I enjoyed watching it for an extended time and identified my favorites while Barry took a quick nap in Sadie.

We walked down the strip to The Arte Museum. What a cool immersive art experience. So glad we added this to our evening!

We started off in the cafe area since it would be closing before the museum itself closed. Art images were projected onto the wall and onto our table. The pictures don’t do it justice, but it was pretty cool to see images in our drinks!

Next- a room of waves where the waves create/reveal an unexpected show!

“WHALE: DANCING WHALE RESEMBLING THE SEA”
“A whale made of water becomes one with the waves, becomes one with the water creating an infinite and surreal harmony.”

The “Star” room was really cool to walk through carefully. The colors changes were awesome

This large “garden” space had 4 different immersive presentations (exhibitions) that rotated seamlessly from one to the next. Each exhibition was unique and a delight to experience. “Light of Masterpieces”, and “Beach Aurora” both filled me with joy. They were my favorites!

Paintings of Joseon (Exhibition #3) Well done!

Beach Aurora (Exhibition #4) – View from upper viewing area:

It was fun to sit looking out at the “water” and the Northern Lights and “feel” the water come up the over our feet!

Exhibition #1 – Light of Las Vegas

Exhibition #1 Light of Masterpieces – Wonderful music further enhanced the visual experience. It literally moved me as I felt the dance to flow from one painting to another with pure joy. LOVED this exhibition!!

The Bellagio
We headed back towards Sadie, but had to stop at the Bellagio’s Botanical Room that changes every season. The Bellagio fountain show started just as we were arriving. Great timing!

The famous Chihuly suspended glass art makes quite the statement of elegance as it welcomes people from the main Bellagio entrance. It is stunning!

Into the Botanical Room:

What a fantastic day it has been here in Las Vegas!!!

As we approached Sadie, I noticed something hanging down by the bike rack. It was one of the bike locks! What the hell!?!? Someone tried to steal our e-bikes! They cut through one cable lock and the cable lock that was part of the Kuat bike rack!!! Luckily, we had three locks in place and the Kryptonite one was still intact. Either it was too much for the person, or he/she just didn’t have time and ran off when security approached. How do we know security showed up? We had a note on our windshield from them alerting us to the attempted theft! Research on bike locks will begin tomorrow!

We enjoyed a little more of the exterior of The Sphere from this parking lot.

Both of us were pretty exhausted and ready to head back to the Thousand Trails for the night.
