Bahia Honda State Park

Loving the day!

December 27th we went to Bahia Honda State Park. We had to drive since we wanted to take our kayaks. It was $9 for two people in a car, but if I had gotten out prior to the gate and walked in we would have save $2. Ridiculous. Don’t understand why it isn’t just a flat fee for the vehicle and driver and then $2.50 for each additional passenger. That would make sense!

The water looked a little rougher than I wanted, especially knowing it was the Atlantic Ocean and we don’t have any PFDs yet. The yellow flag was up to alert people to moderate wind and currents. We paddled out with the wind and current pushing us a bit, but boy when we had to make the left around the key to the other beach side of the park we really had to work against wind and strong currents to get to the shore. We had lunch at a picnic table overlooking the ocean. The return to the other side was another workout as we were paddling into the wind.
