Furniture Change Ups

LIVING ROOM:
After being invited inside a Ron and Judy’s new home at CVR (Carefree Village Resort), we decided we really could fit a couch and loveseat in our living room area. Their home is the same floor plan and size that our’s is. We also thought that the full entertainment center wall put on order may be too much after all. Having more “white space” would help make it feel roomier while still having a homey feel. It would also allow for a tree at Christmas! Luckily, having placed our original furniture order at Mor Furniture for Less in Yuma, we have until delivery to make any changes to the order. Everything is included under the initial order with one shipping fee and 2 years to pay interest free!

We made many changes. First, we completely cancelled the two charcoal leather “euro”, swivel/recliner chairs, and the entire wall entertainment console set with “piers”, and a “bridge”. Next we modified the loveseat by removing the center console, and added the full couch to the order. The sofa includes recliners on both end seats along with the same head tilt and lumbar support that is on the love seat. Now any company we have will be just as comfy as we are! We received the Labor Day Sale price for the sofa since the original order purchase date was during the extended Labor Dale Sale.

We selected a replacement entertainment console. We went with a simpler piece, but one with a fireplace. We love the fireplace in the motorhome and believe this one would also get a lot of use during the winter in Yuma. It will be the piece to make the living space really feel like a home.

Barry wanted a coffee table, but I was concerned about trying to fit too much into the small space. Some of the coffee tables we looked at were quite large and heavy/bulky in appearance. After visiting several stores and many hours shopping online, we found an inexpensive one that we believe will help unite the dark floors, the dark espresso kitchen cabinets and island with the gray toned entertainment console and the creamy white sofa and love seat.

Being a round coffee table that is only 33 inches in diameter, it will take up less space and allow for better flow around the sofa. It also has a bonus of hidden storage inside! We can store our laptops in here when not in use, as well as a small blanket or two for chilly mornings/evenings.

We went ahead and ordered two matching round end tables that also have storage inside. Patience and perseverance paid off! We initially found these at Ashley Furniture in Yuma, but luckily Mor Furniture had them and they were priced significantly less. We also added an expensive set of 3 nesting tables for flexibility. Since our original open order had a “no tax” bonus, anything we add to the order is adjusted for no tax! Win! WIN!

We are considering adding this type of arching, triple light in the corner of the loveseat and couch. But will will likely wait and see how things look when we start moving in.

MASTER BEDROOM:
We just finished ordering our master bed mattress and frame. (NOT from Mor.) I originally ordered the Avocado Green Hybrid mattress (individually wrapped coils with 2 layers of latex on top, new pillows, bedding, and adjustable bed back in August since they said they could hold the order till the house was completed. Turns out they couldn’t, so they cancelled the order. The lady said she would be in touch the end of October for replacing the order. It is now December and no word.

After doing more research I changed up this as well! Plushbeds’ Botanical Bliss mattress, which is an organic latex mattress was our choice. Plushbeds gave me much more confidence to have delayed shipment and true customer service! Plus I believe it will be a better bed.

2nd BEDROOM:
We still need to decide on the 2nd bedroom. Do we want a sofa bed (possibly from MOR Furniture) with an awesome sofa queen mattress (from Plushbeds)? Or a Murphy Bed? Even with a nice upgraded sofa mattress, the sofa bed option would be about half the cost of a Murphy bed with a good mattress. The second bedroom is quite small, and a traditional queen bed would leave that room with a single purpose and unusable the majority of the time. I’m leaning towards the sleeper sofa.

NOW to have patience for our house and lot to be completed for us to move in! So exciting!!
