Borrego Springs, CA

Barry and I took a drive from Palm Desert to Borrego Springs.  We could see the Salton Sea and “Slab City” area, but neither of us had any desire to actually go, and “experience” either of them. YouTube videos were more than enough for me to say, “No, thank you.” For us the draw to Borrego Springs was a unique outdoor desert art gallery, Galleta Meadows that we had heard of via YouTube. First a few pics of the scenery along the way.

Galleta Meadows is full of eclectic metal sculptures spread out in the landscape bordering a couple different main roads. The sculptures are pretty incredible. It would be fun to bring Isaac and Mona out sometime to see them. You have to drive to the various sections, and then you walk amongst those within close proximity.  It was fun driving around to find more. We explored for at least 4 or 5 hours. The pictures speak for themselves.

Part 2–There’s more!!

The beautiful sunset that greeted us as we came back to Thousand Trails Palm Springs! It had been a fun day, and this was the perfect finish to it. 🙂
