4-10-19 Reconnecting in Tucson

April 10, Barry and I went to Tucson for a quick visit to reconnect with a couple different people. When we sold our Everett house to live and travel full time in our motorhome, our neighbors, Lance and Karolin Windon shared that they had just bought a lot in Oro Valley, AZ. They were having a home built. Lance invited us to come visit. We were curious about the area, so we decided to go for a night.

Unfortunately, the day we were leaving Mesa was the same day RVs were arriving from all over for a big weekend country music event in a town that was along our route! About forty minutes into our drive we came to a complete stop. After not moving for at least 45 minutes we were told it would be a couple hours just to get a few miles down the road, so we turned around, and went back and around a different way to Tucson. It took us twice as long as it should have, but we finally made it to Oro Valley! Lance & Karol have a gorgeous new home! They moved in just a few months earlier!

Karolin had quite a spread ready upon our arrival. We had a wonderful time visiting the rest of the afternoon and evening. We really appreciated Lance & Karol’s generous hospitality!

Before we headed back to Mesa, we met a longtime Boeing colleague of Barry’s, Ted Stewart, and his wife Carol, for lunch. This was my first opportunity to meet Ted & Carol. Lunch was great, but our conversations were delightful and engaging.
