We just spent a most enjoyable afternoon and evening with Jennine and Garth Totton in Coronach, Saskatchewan on their farm! This is the Totton family farm where Garth grew up. WOW! What an incredible property. It is as peaceful here as it is beautiful!

I met Jennine and Garth at CVR last winter via Saturday TEAM pickleball play, and then they joined us a few times for our DUPR play. When they heard of our trip they immediately, and eagerly invited us to stop and stay with them. Our National Park reservations had already been made so we didn’t have much wiggle room within that portion of our trip, but we were able to make a slight adjustment to permit one night. OMG—we are so glad we did!!
Jennine and Garth had two of their grandchildren with them for a few more days. Kydence and Ezrea were delightful to watch as they thoroughly entertained themselves playing outside or inside. They loved being outside! Never once did we hear “I’m bored”. How refreshing,
Jennine fixed wonderful food for us to have for dinner…a “cheese” log (that she made from cashews), a bean salad which included green beans from their garden last summer, pickled beets, pickled carrots, dill pickles (all from their garden!), and homemade rolls! OMG everything was so good! Then for dessert we had dates with a pecan inside and topped with dark chocolate. Simple, but so tasty!

After dinner, we went out to their barn where Garth & Jennine have a pickleball court. Dave and Doug, two friends of Garth came to play with us. We played for about 2 1/2 hours, and had some great games!

We slept in till about 8. We went into the house to shower, and then we leisurely visited. We were thoroughly enjoying this special time with Jennine and Garth that we really didn’t want to rush into moving on.
Garth used to buy antiques. He has two stunning pieces in his living room that he refinished. This is a working RCA Victrola! He cranked it up to play for us.
There are no speakers in the cabinet. The sound is amplified through the arm and comes out through the openings in front.
Kydence stopped playing to watch them dance. I could see the sparkle in her eyes. Jennine gestured to her to dance. She responded immediately!

Now Ezrea is ready for her turn. 🙂

We are thinking of coming back to Canada next year, but for about 4+ months starting in British Columbia and heading east to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. We will try to see Jennine and Garth somewhere for a couple of days then – if it works out for all of us.
