We are so excited for our time in the Canadian National Parks of Banff, Jasper and Waterton Lakes and the stunning scenery of this entire area! Getting closer!

6/23/25
We arrived at Lake Louise Hard-Top Trailer Campground for three nights.

This was a “shared” site. Not an issue. 🙂

Since we couldn’t snag two tickets online for the Lake Louise /Lake Moraine Shuttles, we drove Sadie to Lake Louise to check out the parking lot situation for tomorrow. If parking is out of the question, we will have to ride our bikes. YEA! They have a parking lot JUST for RVs!! We pulled into it. It was pretty big!
Since it was about 4:30 PM , there were a few spots open, so Barry pulled into one while I quickly ran down to see the lake. WOW!! It was really cold and windy, but what a stunning view! I am pumped for our hike tomorrow!

Since the parking lots have been getting full by 7 am, we decided to get up, throw on some clothes and drive directly to the parking lot to be there by 6 am tomorrow morning. Luckily, we are only about 10 minutes away.

We got a terrific end spot at 6 am. No one would be parking on our passenger side! Now we had time to relax, make our coffee, and get ready for our day of hiking. We LOVE Sadie for this type of versatility and COMFORT! The parking fee is simply $28 CND/$21 USD. Regardless if you stay one hour or the entire day (6am to 7pm), the fee is the same. Easy peasy. Speeds up the pay stations!

THE HIKING PLAN:
We researched hiking routes the best we could to avoid anything classified as “difficult” or “hard” and/or just too many miles. We decided on a counter-clockwise loop that started from the hotel end of Lake Louise to Mirror Lake, Little Beehive, Lake Agnes and then around to the “back” of Lake Louise to come along the lake to the the hotel/lodge area of the lake where we started. The loop was 7.4 miles and would take about 4 1/2 hrs. -(I know it will take us at least 6 hours with the altitude and taking pictures.)
And we’re off! (Wearing multiple layers!)

We started at the hotel end of Lake Louise and hiked to Mirror Lake. This section of the hike was pretty easy.

That is Big Beehive in the background of Mirror Lake. (We will NOT be hiking up it.)

From Mirror Lake we hiked to Little Beehive – a little more challenging, but there were great views.

We couldn’t get enough of the beautiful turquoise Lake Louise!

LAKE AGNES

HUGE crowd for the Lake Agnes Teahouse! I started to wait in line, but realized it wasn’t worth it, we had plenty of snacks packed. We didn’t want to waste time waiting in line!

The Falls at Lake Agnes

Hike “down” to the “back-end” of Lake Louise

We both enjoy seeing the variety of wildflowers & butterflies.

Lake Louise -hike along the shore. This section is an easy “hike”. The turquoise and blues were breathtakingly beautiful! So glad we were able to take this all in in person!

We made it! What a great hike today! I LOVE my new hiking shoes!!
There were definitely some steep up and downs, but nothing considered “technical”, but it was “moderately challenging”. It was a great hike. We’re exhausted, but no blisters or issues.

Tomorrow will be our rest and recover day.
