FARGO – Our 1st County Park & THE Woodchipper

We are loving the size of Sadie, our 2025 GRECH Strada Ion! We have been able to stay at more Harvest Hosts that are convenient along our route which were not as available when we had our Class A diesel pusher. And of course more parking lots are doable. Tonight we stayed at our FIRST county park.

Lindenwood Campground is in the Fargo District Park in Fargo, North Dakota. We were in site B5. The lower B section all have views of the river. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and quiet. I liked the green hill up behind the rigs that add to the atmosphere and privacy.

The office building is attached to the shower facilities, which were great! There is really hot water and great pressure. A key card was issued to us upon check-in to use the bathroom/showers. (Must be returned prior to departure!)

Traveling in a Class B is new for us, but so far we are thrilled being able to take advantage of easier traveling. We have so many more opportunities for quick stops, and for overnight stays.

FYI – This local county campground did have some sites that would accommodate larger RVs.

On our way out in the morning, we stopped at the Fargo Visitor Center to check out the infamous woodchipper that was in the movie Fargo. I’ve never seen the movie, nor am I interested in seeing it, but we took pictures by the iconic piece. Before we reach the chipper, I noticed this – “The Fargo Walk of Fame”. I took a couple pictures, and as I walked I didn’t recognize the names. But today as I look at the pictures and read the sign, I see Def Leppard, Joe Perry, Steven Tyler, and Roy Clark. hmm- next time through Fargo, I will check out the entire sidewalk of fame. 🙂

The chipper “stunt double” outside:

And the main prop from the movie…

The chipper was signed by Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, both the writers and directors of the movie.

Now that we had a little fun, it was time to head down the road.

We stopped for the night in Dickinson, ND at the Fluffy Winery Harvest Host. The family and workers were super nice, but I couldn’t do the wine. I tried, but these “fruit” wines just weren’t for me. We would not be buying any wine, so we ordered a pulled pork sandwich as a way to thank them for the Harvest Host overnight stay.

A dumping rainstorm that came through! It didn’t last too long though.

Nice, quiet night. CANADA – Here we come!!!
