Casper PICKLEBALL Harvest Host

I was so excited when Barry told me that he found a Harvest Host that is a pickleball place!! We quickly adjusted our Casper Elks stay to Casper Pickleball & Sports Complex for July 7, 2025 for one night.

Casper Pickleball has a large paved area that is mostly fenced for their Harvest Host guests. They accept 5 RVs–and they can be big rigs! The center parking area is marked with blue line and blue numbers 1-5. Nice to have such a decent space between rigs. When we arrived we were the only ones, but by evening three others joined us–but they didn’t play pickleball. Their stay was free, but our cost was a bit more. LOL

THE COURTS
Courts 1, 2 and 3 along the left side are situated “end” to end” for pro play and final tournament matches. Courts 4-8 situated side by side are for regular play. These are all professional grade outdoor surfaces but in the comfort of being indoors.

Sam was giving a lesson to some beginners.

As a non-member, it is $30 an hour to reserve a regular court, $40 for one of the elite courts. Because there was no one around to play doubles, Barry and I were not interested in paying $30 to play each other in skinny singles. Tomorrow morning is “Open Play” from 6 am – 8am. DANG that’s early!! That will be $20 per person. We registered for that in hopes that two others see it and join the sign-up. Our $$ would be refunded if no one showed up. They told me usually the players who come for 6am play are the better players. Luckily, we had no commute. 5:20 wake-up was early enough. LOL

In the meantime, I tried out their “Dink Pad” wall board. I appreciated the various targets that gave you more to pay attention to for decent practice at the kitchen line. What a great use of this partial wall!

The “Pro Shop”
The Casper Pickleball Complex has a nice “pro shop” inside. They sold the Selkirk pickleball shoes that Jimmy R raves about, so I tried a pair on in my size. They did feel pretty good. I don’t presently need any. They seem to be about the same price as the Babolat shoes that I really like.

I purchased a package of new Selkirk handle overwraps and a couple new edge guards for both my paddle and Barry’s.

OPEN PLAY was a GO!!
“Dave” and “Susan” showed up to play! We had great games!! Even Sam, one of the owner of Casper PB, joined us for two games. At 9 am the next group of players had arrived for our court. They asked me to join them since one of their players was running late. I was all excited to play more, but as I was entering the court, he showed up.

Front left corner has a conversation/waiting area and table tennis (ping pong). Against the wall they are all set for medal awards for their various tournaments.

FYI: Depending on your level of pickleball addiction, Casper Pickleball offers various monthly memberships. It’s nice that the memberships are monthly so you can (I assume) select a better option as your needs fluctuate.

This complex also has batting cages across the back. There are 4 at 60 feet and 4 at 75 feet.

What a great start to our day. Onward to Estes Park, Colorado!!

When we stopped for fuel, and a quick run into a Costco, we made our first stop ever at a Chick-fil-A. We finally decided to check out all the hype/popularity. It was decent, but it isn’t like I would crave it or get all excited when I see another one.

Tomorrow – Rocky Mountain National Park!
