Hard to believe the spectacular beauty that was waiting beneath the surface!
Barry booked our LOWER Antelope Canyon tour for August 4th. We went with Dixie’s Lower Antelope Canyon Tours. These tours are not cheap, and you MUST book well in advance. No water bottles or bags of any kind are permitted on the tour. No videos are permitted inside the canyon.
I loved the full wall photo of the Navajo woman with the canyon background near the gift shop.
Prior to the tour we were treated to this amazing Navajo hoop dancer. I was genuinely disappointed that everyone present did not actively show their appreciation for his amazing talent. Not sure if they rationalized that they paid enough for the tour, and that this was simply included. But he was incredible.
We were divided into smaller walking tour groups. We lucked out getting Ashley as our guide. All the guides are Navajo, and these canyons are on their Navajo lands.

Upon completing the Lower Antelope Canyon tour and our group emerged from the canyon, Ashley performed a really cool demonstration for us. We did not see ANY OTHER guide do this!! She definitely earned a special tip! She went above and beyond what was provided for the tour!
Tomorrow we are scheduled for the Upper Antelope Canyons Tour!
